…AS OHA NSULU ENDORSE HIM FOR GOVERNORSHIP
The State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for next year’s general election, Professor Uche Ikonne says good governance anchored on effective use of human and material resources for State development will be the basis of his administration if he emerges the State governor next year.
Professor Ikonne made the remarks when the traditional rulers, stakeholders, and leaders of the four wards of Nsulu Ancient Kingdom in Isiala Ngwa North LGA paid him a solidarity visit in his Agburuike Nsulu country home.
The State PDP flag bearer also restated that he is not seeking power for self-aggrandizement but on a mission of entrenching effective governance in the State through his vision of participatory governance as the most qualified candidate with the capacity, experience, competence, and character to lead Abia to the next level of development.
Professor Ikonne said he is humbled, strengthened, and encouraged by the visit of his people and called for their collective efforts towards actualizing victory and success at the polls.
While urging them to thank Governor Ikpeazu for laying the foundation of his emergence as well as solid infrastructural and human capital development in the State, Professor Ikonne assured that he will build on these foundations for greater development of Abia, adding that he will not disappoint his people if he becomes the next governor of the State.
Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Isiala Ngwa North/South federal constituency, Professor A.C.B. Agbazuere, and his counterpart at the State House of Assembly, Mr. Collins Iheonunekwu (Ochake) commended the people of Oha Nsulu for believing in their son, Professor Ikonne and urged them not to relent in their efforts at ensuring that all PDP candidates emerge victorious at the elections.
Earlier in their speeches, the Chairman Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Elder Chinwendu Ochulor, the chairman Isiala Ngwa North Traditional rulers council, Eze (Dr.) Uche Aliche and the PDP chairman Isiala Ngwa North chapter, Elder Sam Esindu said they came to strengthen and encourage their son, Professor Ikonne as he embarks on the governorship race in the State and to assure him of their support.
Also speaking, leaders from the four wards of Nsulu, including Elder Chibuike Nwokeukwu (SAN), Rt. Hon. Uzor Azubuike, former Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Jesse Oduh and Dr. C.I.C. Mbuko thanked Governor Ikpeazu and the PDP family in the State for giving one of their best sons, Professor Ikonne this opportunity and expressed confidence that if he emerges victorious at the polls, he will not disappoint Abians giving his antecedents and achievements as former Rector Abia Polytechnic Aba and former Vice-chancellor ABSU.
Also contributing, the chairman of the occasion and Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu charged the people of Oha Nsulu Ancient Kingdom not to relent in their support for Professor Ikonne and advised them to solicit door-to-door support for him.
Highlights of the visit were the presentation of campaign materials, food items, and some cash while special prayers were made for Professor Ikonne, his family, and the entire Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization.
Among the donors are Elder Darlington Omerekpe, and Dr. Max Nduaguibe who are great sons of Nsulu.
