Determined to keep its men agile, fit for operational efficiency, and foster interagency cooperation, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) today, Friday 31st October, 2025 conducted a Joint Route March for its personnel and other security agencies within Jalingo metropolis.

The exercise, witnessed the active participation of personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba Marshal, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, was aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and mutual understanding among the various security formations operating within the state.

Speaking before flagging off the route march, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, noted that the event was one of the several training activities regularly organized by the Nigerian Army to ensure the physical and mental alertness of officers and soldiers.

According to him, “Today’s route march is not just about fitness. It is a demonstration of our strength, unity, and readiness to defend our nation at all times. It reminds us that discipline, teamwork, and endurance remain the hallmarks of our profession.

“As we step off, let us march with pride, purpose, and mutual respect, showing the people of Taraba and Nigeria that the security forces remain united, alert, and mission-ready.”

The exercise also served as a platform to reinforce esprit de corps among participating agencies and underscore the collective commitment to sustaining peace and security in Taraba State and Nigeria at large.

According to the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad said in a statement that the route march, which covered major streets in Jalingo, attracted the attention and commendation of residents who applauded the display of unity and coordination among the security personnel.
