Gen Fejokwu further enjoins officers to bring positive innovations to bear that would touch lives wherever they are posted to serve.
“Before now, the Commanding Officer’s quarter was an eyesore. The Officers’ Mess was in a deplorable state. Thank God that the CO has been able to change the narratives and bring life to this place,” Gen Fejokwu noted.

“I believe in adding value to humanity. In that vein, when I assumed duty, there were lots of challenges in terms of manpower, infrastructure and other resources.
“The water system was moribund due to lack of maintenance. With the assistance of friends of the battalion and the little resources at our disposal, we were able to fix it and the personnel and family members now have access to good water.
“More also, we have been able to renovate the Commanding Officer’s house; the Officers’ Mess, which is the image of the battalion and the chalets were fixed and furnished with state of the art equipment.
“At the barbecue spot, we have constructed and made it decent to our own advantage unlike before, when we had several people struggle to carry out their chores and other things in a congested spot. It can now accommodate several persons at the same time.
On the Mess, he emphasized, “it was totally abandoned; not function optimally and was almost deserted. We have renovated it. Taking cognisance of security, we decided to build Outer Conveniences considering that a large pool of people, friends and honorary members who come around are civilians.
“These projects have not only touched the lives of our officers but raised the image of the Nigerian Army and our officers that used to go outside to relax, now have a conducive place to relax after laborious work,” Lt Col Amayuoyi reiterated.

Particularly, while x-raying some of his achievements since assumption of office about four months ago, Lt Col Amayuoyi added that the battalion has been able to assist between 10 to 15 wounded soldiers while in the front with wheelchairs and crutches, making it possible to move around in addition to making provision for equipment in other areas of needs for officers, soldiers and their family members.
