The 81 Division Nigerian Army has said that it was aware of the explosion that occurred at the Metal Scrap Yard in Mushin Area of Lagos State on Friday, 4th April 2025 killing one person.
It was learnt that the explosion led to one fatality and injury to two others.
In a statement on Saturday by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Olabisi Ayeni said that the Counter Improvised Explosive Devise (CIED) Squadron of the Division has been tasked to liaise with the Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team to investigate the source.
They were also mandated, among others, to investigate the circumstances which led to the explosion.
In addition, the team will also inspect the general area to ensure its continued safety.
Meanwhile, the residents in the general area are advised not to panic and remain calm.
The Division commiserates with the family of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
