The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Maj Gen Lawrence Fejokwu has assured the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of assistance to train and retrain its officers with a view to having optimal performance.
The GOC gave the assurance when he paid Commandant Ayeni a courtesy visit in his office at the Lagos State Command, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday.
Gen Fejokwu, therefore, commended the Commandant for his hard work in ensuring the security and safety of lives and properties in Lagos State.
He also applauded him for his resilience in the fight against oil pipeline vandalism, amidst others and charged him to remain courageous and strong against all forms of economic sabotage that may lead to loss of lives and property in the state.
“We would support and assist in the area of training and retraining of officers and men as this would aid in fostering inter-agency collaboration and synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Lagos State,” he reiterated.
Commandant Ayeni in his response expressed his joy and gratitude for having the rare opportunity and privilege to host the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division for his office.
While requesting for perfect synergy, joint training, and retraining of officers and men of the command, he also eulogised and appreciated the Nigerian Army for its past impacts and roles towards the growth and development of the corps.
He assured the General officer Commanding of his avowed commitment to remain dedicated towards the safety of lives, property and protection of critical national assets belonging to the Federal, State, and Local governments amongst others in the state.
In another development, Commandant, Ayeni also visited the Regional Coordinator National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Mrs. Olufunmilola Opesanwo.
He pledged his support to the NIMC boss in order to strengthen the cordial ties between the two organisations in Lagos State.
The Regional Coordinator of NIMC, in Lagos, Mrs. Olufunmilola Opesanwo, appreciated the Commandant for his visit and requested his continuous support and collaboration in order to aid the seamless control of the crowd and smooth operations at the NIMC Head Office, in Lagos.
The Assistant Superintendent of Corps (ASCI) Abolurin Oluwaseun, Public Relations Officer of the corps said in a statement that the Commandant confirmed the deployment of a few officers from the operation department of the Command to the NIMC Head Quarters, in Lagos State.
