The Commander, 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Isangubong Akpaumontia on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps with a view to collaborating with the agency for effective service delivery.
While speaking in his office at Ojodu, he appreciated the Sector Commander for his good work in improving the traffic situation of Lagos State, adding that the visit was aimed at familiarising himself with the Command after taking over 9 Brigade Nigerian Army Command on the 5th April 2022.
Brig Gen Akpaumontia called for strengthened collaboration and cooperation between the two agencies and promised not to hesitate in rendering service when called upon.
The Sector Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide in his response thanked the Commander for finding time to visit the Command.
Reiterating that the Command has been enjoying the Army’s support especially in handling recalcitrant road users on Lagos- Ibadan Expressway, he promised to sustain the synergy, particularly in the renewal of the Driver’s License of his personnel and informed him of the need to advise his men to always identify themselves to Road Safety operatives in the spirit of “Esprit de Corps” while in need of her support.
This he said will enhance inter-agency collaboration and prevent avoidable conflicts.
Earlier, Brig-Gen Akpaumontia inspected the quarter guard mounted in his honour and was received on arrival by DCC Tajudeen Mafe, FRSC Lagos Sector DCC Logistics.
Accompanied on the visit were the Operation Officer; Major T Emuren, Assistant Director Army Public Relations; Major AK Bello, and Major A. Sanusi.
