The Heads of Paramilitary Agencies in Lagos State, on Friday, October 13, 2023, played host to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for a special function with his old friends, who attended, the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, the Great Ife with him.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun.
According to him, “The leadership virtues, of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo such as respect and regard for people, leadership by example, integrity, great discipline, motivation, passion for service, love for country, attitudinal change, faith in God, believe in culture and character, academic excellence, eloquence, professionalism et ce tera, succinctly, grew out, while he was addressing his old time friends, his interior family and invited dignitaries, on the renewed hope, plans and visions he has to change the narrative of the internal security methodology, of our dear nation, Nigeria.
“He further posited, specifically, amongst other things that he will enhance the operational, research, administrative, and logistics performance of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC ), across the nation, under the current leadership, of Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to ensure the adequate protection of our critical national assets and infrastructure, which include oil and gas pipelines, power installations, railway system, telecommunications, and others spread, across the entire economic system and nerve of the nation and as such force saboteurs of government’s efforts and programmes to be brought to book and made to face the wrath of the law, with a view to utterly eradicate them.
“The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Alfadarai, astonished, by the renewed hope and assurances expressed, by the Honourable Minister of Interior, at the special occasion, said, “Only a man with vision and bank of wisdom and knowledge like the Honourable Minister of Interior can pilot the processes that will holistically, drive peace initiatives, secure and protect our nation, Nigeria, against the menace and decadence of raging insecurity.”
“The Security Heads from the Interior family in Lagos, present, at the event, held, to honour the Honourable Minister, were the Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, A. Sadiq; Lagos Zonal Co-ordinator, Nigeria immigration service, Assistant Controller General of Fire Chika Njoku; Zone F Controller in charge of Southwest, Controller of Corrections, Ben – Rabbi Freedman; Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, the State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command; Comptroller of Immigration Service, Adesola Adesokan, Comptroller, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command, Ikeja. “Other Great Ife alumni and friends of the Honourable Minister of Interior, such as Mr. Felix and Mrs. Ibironke Ogunmade, Mr. Mojeed Alabi, Mr. Abiodun and Mrs. Remi Omole and numerous others also teamed up in oneness of mind and purpose, to surprise him with an honourable gift presentation and the declaration of a ‘Trust,’ to ease our correctional facilities in Lagos and by extension Nigeria.”
