The Heritage Orphanage Home located at Anthony, Lagos was pleasantly amazed when the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), 9 Brigade Chapter visited the home with an avalanche of gift items on the 3rd November, 2023.
NAOWA, led by the Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. Nneka Shirley Adetuyi, accompanied by teachers and pupils of NAOWA Primary School pays a humanitarian visit in line with NAOWA’s mission to assist the poor, vulnerable children, and women in society.
During the visit, NAOWA donated several food and household items including bags of rice, beans, cartons of noodles and biscuits, cheese balls, spaghetti, sweets, clothes, shoes, diapers, tissue papers, sanitary pads, and many more.
The children of the home, apparently filled with joy and excitement sang and prayed for the association and christened the members “Our Big Mummies”.
The children and the NAOWA pupils exchanged hugs and sang together, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
The Coordinator of the Association, Mrs. Adetuyi expressed her gratitude to the caregivers and Staff of the orphanage for their selfless dedication to the children; employing them to nurture the children with love and care, and help them to realize their full potential for a better future.
Responding, the caregivers and staff of the Heritage Home expressed gratitude to NAOWA for their generosity towards the children, stating that the donation would go a long way in meeting the needs of the home and improving the lives of the children.
Mrs Adetuyi, further assured the children of the orphanage of NAOWA’s continuous support while encouraging them to stay focused on their educational aspirations.
