The Acting Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI), Lt Col Adamu Ngulde has decorated six newly promoted Naval Officers who benefitted from the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), 2023 promotion with their new ranks.
The decoration ceremony took place at the Headquarters, NASPRI Admin Complex, at Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri Abuja.
The Officers who were promoted from the ranks of Sub- Lieutenants to Lieutenants in the Nigerian Navy are Lieutenants SS Aidi, AO Akor, CE Akor, LE Antai, SO Nasiru and OO Omole.
The Officers are all members of Course 25, Direct Short Service (DSS). At the time of their promotion, they are attending the Media Operations Officers Course (MOOC 13/2023) in NASPRI.
The Special Guest of Honour, Director General, Voice of Nigeria Alhaji Jibril Baba Ndace in his address, urged the newly decorated student officers to be worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Navy.
He also charged the officers to always take good care of their families, provide good education and good upbringing to their children, and always take good care of their wives.
He noted that wives are a blessing to them because they take care of the home front while their husbands are away on military duties.
In his remarks, the Commandant congratulated them for a well-deserved promotion, adding that the road ahead is not an easy one. He, therefore, challenged them to work harder because the opportunities get narrower for the ranks that lay ahead of them, noting that not everyone who got promoted together will be promoted subsequently, at the same time.
Adding that this is because the vacancies keep shrinking as they ascend the career ladder.
As a result, he urged them to justify their promotion through hard work, loyalty, and commitment to the Nigerian Navy and the nation, admonishing them to take priority in attending courses and work assiduously to come out with flying colours.
While responding on behalf of the promoted officers, Lt SS Aidi thanked the Chief of Navy Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla on the confidence reposed on them and also commended the Commandant and Staff of NASPRI for imparting knowledge on them and also promised on behalf of other beneficiaries to live above board while pursuing their career in the service.
