Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Edwin Osuala has been honoured with Integrity Stewardship Award from Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation, Abuja, a non-governmental organization in recognition of his exceptional service in creative leadership and efforts in combatting crime and all forms of vandalization across the state.
Presenting the Award on Tuesday, the Executive Director of the Organisation, Comrade Abubakar A. Oyibo who led other Regional Directors said the award was in recognition of Mr. Osuala’s unwavering commitment, track record of selfless service, professionalism, distinguished exceptional leadership, and remarkable achievements as the State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State a position of great responsibility.
“Sir your emergence amongst the most ethically responsible citizens in Nigeria, whose actions and words connote integrity and true service to humanity is based on the tested and proven records of your unparalleled expertise and commitment to duty.
“We have followed your innovative and effective approach to law enforcement which has not only ensured the safety and security of members of the public but has also enhanced the overall quality of life in Anambra State”, he said.
Speaking shortly after receiving the Award, the elated Mr. Osuala, thanked the non-governmental organization for the honour and promised to do more in the display of integrity and service to Humanity, sincerity of purpose, and administrative discipline to maintain a peaceful environment in the state.
He attributed his tremendous operational achievements in curtailing the criminal activities in the state as regards to vandalization of critical national assets and Infrastructure to the full support and encouragement received from the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
Mr. Osuala said the award was made possible because of the unhindered support he received from his management team, and Officers and men of the command. He used the opportunity to thank His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Executive Governor of Anambra state, for his sundry support and assistance to the command.
In his vote of thanks, Deputy Commandant Steve Ikeorah, the Command’s 2ic, expressed gratitude to the non-governmental organization for recognizing the efforts of the state Commandant and entire Officers and Men in their commitment to protect lives and property.
Describing the award as a morale booster to the command in doing more for the country, he reaffirmed NSCDC’s determination to deploy necessary resources, strengthen preventive measures, and implement proactive strategies to address security concerns not only in the state but also across the country, as stated in a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSC Okadigbo Edwin.
