…COMMANDANT KESHINRO PARADES SUSPECTS, EXHIBITS
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has paraded four suspects, who were apprehended for attempting to vandalize the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) pipeline at Obawole, in Fagba area of Lagos state.
The State Commandant (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Commandant Adedotun Sunday Keshinro, paraded the suspects on Thursday, 11th January 2024.
It was learnt that the Command obtained credible and actionable intelligence about the nefarious activity of the criminal elements and swung into action about 0245hrs, on Wednesday, 10th January 2024, and thwarted the vandalism on NNPCL pipelines.
As a result, the vandals were arrested and the items were recovered at the scene of the crime.
The Lagos State Commandant, Adedotun Keshinro has also directed that the recovered exhibits; a white bus without a registration number, and the arrested suspects be brought to the State Command Headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja, for further questioning and investigation.
The Intelligence and Investigation Department of the Command has also been charged to conduct a thorough investigation in a bid to ensure the swift and just handling of the matter.
“The Command has remained resolute in its determination to bring the culprits to justice and curb such criminal activities from permeating our streets and communities,” Keshinro said.
The Lagos State Commandant, Adedotun Keshinro further emphasized, the Command’s unwavering commitment to eradicating oil pipeline vandalism, illegal petroleum dealings, and the destruction of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Civil Defence Corps, DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun, the Commandant used the opportunity to send a clear message to those still involved in such act that a new sheriff is in town and as such they would be identified, apprehended, and made to face the full wrath of the law if found culpable.
