CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF COMMENDS UNIPGC FOR PALLIATIVE TO 100 WIDOWS

In recognition of the invaluable support of the United International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) to 100 widows of the fallen heroes, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has commended the civil society’s efforts for remembering the bereaved widows despite the economic predicament.

In a letter of appreciation dated 18th January 2024 signed by Rear Admiral IA Dewu, on behalf of the CDS, thanked Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah immensely for the palliatives provided for 100 widows of the fallen heroes in a build-up activity to the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Ceremony which held on 15 January 2024.

“There is no doubt that your kind gesture is indeed reassuring and consoling to the bereaved widows. Your thoughtful and selfless donation also emphasized the commitment and unalloyed support of citizens to the Armed Forces of Nigeria in recognition of our constitutional responsibility of defending Nigeria.”

In his response, Dr Jonathan Ojadah, pointed out that UNIPGC under his leadership will continue to lend its support to the widows.

In that vein, “Our commitment to this cause remains unwavering, and we are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to align our efforts with the constitutional duty of defending our nation.

“We extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to the Chief of Defence Staff and we also use this medium to acknowledge the immense support of the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations, Rear Admiral I.A Dewu, Director of Civil-Military Relations A.V Ndace, Director of Gender, Brig. Gen. Olujide Ajala and the entire personnel of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.

In furtherance to providing additional palliatives and incentives, UNIPGC – in a date yet to be fixed – intends to organize a lecture for the widows of the fallen heroes Welfare Outreach on a topical issue of “Drugs Abuse & Sexual Exploitation” and a 3-Day Entrepreneurship, Vocational Skills & Business Development training for several Participants in South West and South South which will be followed by starter packages for participants.

Earlier, in another development, UNIPGC Global President, Dr Ojadah also paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant, Nigerian Army Education Corps, Yaba Lagos, Major General B A Tsoho.

During the visit, palliatives were also distributed to deserving widows.

The United International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) is a Civil Society Organization based in Texas, USA with Continental Chapters across the globe and known for its devotion to the promotion of Sustainable Peace, Good Governance Advocacy and Poverty Eradication across the globe.
