GOC 81 DIVISION COMMENDS COMMANDANT INTELLIGENCE SCHOOL FOR INNOVATIVE TRANSFORMATIONAL INGENUITY

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Mohammed Usman, has eulogized the Commandant, Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS), Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, for his laudable achievements in the school.

Gen Usman, who was the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), during the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA), was held at Tego barrack, Apapa in Lagos.

He commended the Commandant for the massive renovations and transformation in the school especially in terms of structural improvement and academic excellence.

Earlier in his welcome address, Brigadier General Nwoko expressed his delight to the SGOH, Senior officers both serving and retired and other guests for gracing the occasion.

On WASA, he said it creates an avenue for officers, soldiers and their families to socialize freely with one another to promote a peaceful environment and co-existence between the military and the civil communities.

Brigadier General Nwoko stated some of the modest achievements of the school during the 2023 Training to include the purchase of technical equipment such as drones, surveillance equipment, forensic technical devices and the complete renovation of the school including furnishings. 

Others included the installation of Solar inverters, and electronic smart boards in all the classrooms, update of the school curriculum, a review of precis, introduction of new courses and improvements on computer education and driving.

Brig Gen Nwoko thanked the COAS for his Command Philosophy especially on training and expressed his satisfaction that all the NA Training Directives for 2023 have been successfully achieved.

The event had in attendance other guests such as the Commandant of Nigerian Army Signal School; Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, and Nigerian Army Ordnance School, Commanders of formations and units within Lagos, retired senior officers, Deputy Comptroller Custom Apapa, heads of other security agencies in Apapa, Chairman Ajeromi LGA, heads of civil organizations and many others. 

Highlights of the event were cultural displays, dance, comedy, Tug of War contest, presentation of awards to deserving soldiers and presentation of gifts to the SGOH and other dignitaries. Other included the beating of the Retreat and the camp bonfire by the SGOH.
