The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel has urged all the State Directors of Security to continue to seek for available technology and more innovative solutions to foster stronger inter-agency partnerships, and enhance capabilities for combating emerging security threats to the nation.
He disclosed this in a key note address on Thursday, 9th May, 2024, at the official opening of the 14th Zonal Security Conference of State Directors of Security, Department of State Services (DSS) of the Northwest Geopolitical Zone, holding at the Pyramid Hall, Bon Hotel, Kano.
Observing that the conference underscores the importance of collaboration, information sharing, and a recognition of our collective efforts at addressing the evolving security challenges facing the Zone, added that the conference presents an opportunity to come together, share insights, and reach agreement on how best to strategize for ensuring the safety and security of the communities in the North-West Geopolitical Zone.
Acknowledging the dedication, commitment and tireless efforts of the Security Agencies, CP Gumel noted that the strong synergy amongst them contributed to the maintenance of the peace and stability in our communities and commended their unwavering commitment to duty and service.
Reiterating, he explained that the conference is “advancing our shared goals for the sustenance of the peace and security of Kano State being the Commercial Nerve Centre, of not only the Northwest, but Nigeria at large.
Gumel commended the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his invaluable contributions and support to their collective efforts towards building a safer and more resilient society.
In a statement, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna disclosed that the conference serves as a platform for constructive dialogue, mutual learning, and the strengthening of our collective resolve to safeguard lives and properties of the communities of the Northwest Geopolitical Zone.
