The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa as part of his operational assessment of the activities of Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation AWATSE, visited its Headquarters at the Western Naval Command, Apapa, South-West Nigeria.
The CDS was received by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mustapha Bala Hassan, who is also the Theatre Commander JTF OP AWATSE on Tuesday, 14th May 2024.
While on-the-spot assessment, the CDS used the opportunity to visit some key operational locations at Atlas Cove, Majidun, Ikorodu to inspect and assess the Joint Operation Areas.
The CDS, General Christopher Gwabin Musa while in the Lagos area also paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Alausa State House and the Oba of Lagos, Chief Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu respectively where he assured that “Lagos must be safe”.
