In commemoration with the Nigerian Navy’s 68th anniversary and to give back to the host community, the Nigerian Navy on Monday rendered a lavished free medical services to Moloney Community in Obalende.
The Joint Medical Rhapsody held at the Ministry of Defence premises in Moloney, Lagos state was designed to reach out to the needy medically.
According to Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Naval Engineering Services Limited, in his opening address, underscored the imperative of prioritizing health, setting the tone for an event dedicated to community well-being.
He noted that the remarkable event illuminated the Navy’s unwavering commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and the reinforcement of civil-military bonds through benevolent outreach to society.
There were health talks and a comprehensive medical outreach led by Captain UI Okeke, Commander of the Naval Medical Centre, and her proficient medical team, comprising doctors, nurses and optometrists.
The beneficiaries expressed joy for the tremendous assistance considering the rising cost of medicines. While embracing the opportunity for essential medical care, he noted that the free medical provision would go a long way in having positive impact on their lives.
In his vote of thanks, the Acting Director of Non-Public Fund, Captain MA Ahmed said the event would stand as the Nigerian Navy’s dedication to service and community.
Present at the event included senior officers such as Commodore SA Ogwu, Director of the Naval Directorate of Education, and Commodore CE Oji, Director of the Directorate of Marine Service.
