The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa has commended the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), for their consistency despite all odds, in disseminating news across the country, adding that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) is working towards a better Nigeria.
General Musa disclosed this while receiving in the audience the Director General of FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, and his management staff in his office at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, on June 21, 2024, and also assured his guests of the AFN’s readiness to work with FRCN to raid the nation of criminalities.
In a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the CDS further said his leadership philosophy is people-centric and added that it will be difficult for the AFN to function without the cooperation of the general public; stating that the military will continue to employ professionalism, decorum, and rule of law in defending democracy. General Musa concluded that the media is critical to changing wrong narratives.
Earlier in his remarks, the DG FRCN, Dr. Bulama, appreciated the role played by the military in sustaining democracy in Nigeria. He described these roles as patriotic while assuring FRCN commitment to partner with the military in the areas of its non-kinetic approach to warfare and pledged their support to the AFN in its fight against insurgency in the country.
Dr. Bulama also revealed their readiness to provide platforms for the non-kinetic approach and to counter radical ideologies and extremism in the country. The DG was accompanied on the visit by his management team.
