The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one of its personnel, (name withheld) who was accused of defiling a 17-year-old girl in his office.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has, therefore, directed a full-scale and thorough investigation into the allegation.
This was disclosed by the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday in Lagos.
The Command assures the public that there is no attempt at a cover-up as such hideous acts are at variance with the code of conduct and professional ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.
To this end, CP Fayoade once again assures Nigerians that the officer would be dealt with following police regulations and the law if found culpable.
The story of the defilement has trended online where the policeman was said to have allegedly assisted the girl in recovering her stolen phone from one-chance robbers who had attacked the said girl.
