UNIPGC Second Edition Global Leadership Summit and Awards (Canada 2024) is billed to hold at the City of Brampton Conservatory Hall, located at 2 Wellington St W, Brampton, ON L6Y 4R2, Canada.
The summit is scheduled to hold on October 25, 2024, the third day after a two-day Executive Masterclass organized by Lifesquare Leadership Initiative in collaboration with the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), scheduled for October 23rd and 24th, 2024.
The 2nd Edition of the Global Peace Leadership Summit and Awards (CANADA2024) is organized by UNIPGC CANADA in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance (CIPG), USA and the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), USA.
Making the announcement in Abuja on Thursday, UNIPGC Global President and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H. E Amb. Jonathan Ojadah said the Second edition will feature both a summit and Masterclass featuring insightful discussions and interactive sessions centered around the theme: “Inclusive Governance for Sustainable Peace, Democracy, and Development”.
Speaking on the objective of the summit, Amb. Ojadah explained that the summit is aimed at addressing the root causes of conflict and instability while promoting democratic values and inclusive societies globally.
As such, it would strive to accelerate the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda and provide a vital global roadmap for sustaining peace. In addition, it is aimed at strengthening democratic processes and peace-building efforts.
It was gathered that participation in the summit is open to world leaders, ministers, captains of industry, top security executives, politicians, and other interested individuals from across the world.
It would be recalled that the first Edition of the Global Peace Leadership Summit and Awards (LONDON2023) was held at the Westminister Hilton Hotel, London, UK on the 25th of November, 2023, and was well attended by reputable dignitaries across the globe.
During the summit, distinguished personalities from various sectors will come together to address key issues related to the theme as well as honouring and recognizing dignitaries from around the world.
At the moment, personalities that will be speaking at the occasion include H.E Chief (DR) Jewel Howard Taylor – the immediate Past Vice President of Liberia; H. E Dhadhon Godhana – Executive Governor/Mayor, Tana River County, Kenya and Her Excellency, Chantal Chambu Mwavita – Minister of Humain Rights, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Participants will receive an Executive Masterclass certificate upon completion of the programme.
However, the summit encourages academic research and analysis related to its goals. Therefore, participants are invited to submit papers for presentation, which will be included in the proposal document sent to governments and international leaders’ post-summit.
The prestigious UNIPGC leadership Excellence Award celebrates outstanding achievements across various sectors and is bestowed upon individuals and organizations committed to nation-building, governance, community development, and sustainable peace-building.
Previous Summits and Award receptions have been held in various countries in Africa such as Nigeria, Zambia, Rwanda, Ghana, and Morocco under the auspices of the Pan African Leadership Summit and Awards (PALESH).
Notable past awardees included Lord Shaun Bailey – Member of the British Parliament, Lord of Paddington, UK; Prof. David Francis – Sierra Leone Former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hon. Chipoka Mulenga – Zambia Minister of Trade and Investment; Hon. Rubota Masumbota – DR Congo Minister of State & Rural Development and H. E, Mike Jocktane – Gabon 2023 Presidential Candidate.
Other included Maj Gen. Bello A. Tsoho – Commandant, Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC); H.E AMB. DR. Morie K. Manyeh – Sierra Leone High Commissioner to the UK and Northern Ireland; Maj Gen. Clement Temidayo Olukoju – Fmr Command Signal, Nigerian Army Headquarters.
