Following the various online media publications on Princess Dahiru Nana Ngozi’s defaming the noble association of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of which she was never the originator of any of the said publications.
Upon investigation, our Special Correspondent discovered that in trying to make things right in the association, Princess Ngosi was accused of disrupting the progress of the association just because she asked for the prudency and audit of the association’s account.
On this note, the notable Princess through her Personal Assistant, Barrister Musa Etubi, explained that Princess Ngosi has no involvement or has sponsored anyone to do any of the said publications.
According to Barr. Etubi, the apology being circulated on the social media platforms by Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Olaniyan, the National President, and Mr. Muhammed Sule, the Assistant National Publicity Secretary, purported to be done in response to the above publication and the mischievous twisting of the scenario which is not only iniquitous but one of their numerous attempts to cover up the misdeeds of some officers of the present PCRC’s administration and instead both of them took the matter to the PCRC Whatsapp platform.
On investigation, Princess Ngozi was suspended based on her accusation that she violated the association’s constitution, and a media release was made to that effect, which was to make Princess Ngosi a scapegoat, and then to damage her highly esteemed reputation and character.
It should be noted that every Nigerian has the right to inquire or ask questions on the financial report of the association they belong to if the need arises that is why as a bonafide financial member of PCRC, Princess Ngosi demanded to know the financial spending of Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Olaniyan, the National President of the noble association and his executives. But instead of getting an answer to her questions, Alhaji Olaniyan went to the media to tarnish her image which is uncalled for even though Princess Ngosi has a cordial relationship with the Nigeria Police Force at all levels.
In another development, the minutes of a nine-man committee headed by Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Olaniyan, on the 20th of September, 2023, to look into the said petition written by Princess Ngosi which consists of misappropriation of over sixty million naira (N60,000,000) and three hundred dollars ($3,000) respectively.
In his response, Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Olaniyan denied all the allegations that the present PCRC constitution is what he inherited from Dr. Okafor and that they have been working on since the inception of his administration. He then submitted that the PCRC account to be audited limits some of the association’s expenses.
Princess Ngozi still believes that the association needs to be prudent on the spending of the monies by the entire executives and then demanded that a post-no debit order be placed on the following account of the PCRC to forestall further unlawful transactions on the accounts: UBA-1008557095, 1023460408 and FCMB-2190463160.
She also requested that all State Command Police Commissioners in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, should be involved in supervising the activities of the association and that all persons wanting to be members of the PCRC be responsible Nigerian from the local government area.
