The Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee in collaboration with Hyde Energy Liquefied Petroleum’s built Gas Station has been commissioned by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja at Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna State.
The project, which is a partnership between the Nigerian Army and Hyde Energy, was commissioned on Wednesday , 18th September, is aimed at improving the standard of living of the larger Nigerian Army family.
The COAS, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, 1 Division, Brigadier General David Nwakonobi, pointed out that the sole aim of the partnership with Hyde Energy Limited is to make available liquefied Petroleum Gas products to troops, their families and the entire barrack community at an affordable price.
He further stated that the project was executed to compliment government efforts in adding value to the barracks community and society at large.
Earlier in his welcome address, Major Gen SS Jiya, the Group Managing Director of NAWLG emphasized the importance of welfare for the effective management of a fighting force.
He lauded the efforts of the COAS towards maintaining troop’s welfare citing the commissioned gas plant project and other welfare projects across the country as instances.
“The establishment of this gas plant will enhance the capacity of the NAWL as well as foster a good relationship between the Army and the public,” Maj Gen Jiya stated.
While giving the project highlights , the representative of the CEO Hyde Energy referred to the collaboration with the NA as a reflection of a joint commitment to bringing sustainable and affordable energy solutions to Army Personnel and the general public.
He noted that it was the key component of an ongoing initiative to establish a network of LPG facilities across Army locations in Nigeria.
“Our partnership with the NA goes beyond the completion of this project. It is a relationship based on trust, shared goals and a vision for improving the welfare of Army personnel and their communities”, he stated .
