…AS GOC DECORATES 65 BATTALION COMMANDING OFFICER, OTHERS
18 newly promoted officers of 81 Division, Nigerian Army, have been called upon to redouble their efforts in their new rank.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, while decorating the officers, congratulated them but emphasized that their promotion was a testament to their hard work, loyalty, dedication, and service to the Nigerian Army in particular and the Nation at large.
Among the decorated officers were Brigadier General Abubakar Usman and Colonel Mohammed Marwa, the Commanding Officer, 65 Battalion, Bonny Cantonment.
The decoration ceremony was held at 81 Division Officers’ Mess, Outer Marina, Victoria Island, Lagos recently.
However, the GOC urged the newly promoted officers to remain selfless, reminding them that promotion comes with immense responsibilities and that the Army expects them to lead by example.
General Mijinyawa also implore the officers to prioritize the welfare of their troops and families, ensuring that the benefits of their new ranks are utilized to improve the well-being of their families.
In his vote of thanks after the investiture on behalf of the promoted officers, Brigadier General Mohammed Usman expressed gratitude to the Almighty God, the Army Council, and the COAS for finding them worthy of the promotion. He also thanked the GOC for his guidance and leadership.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, family members, friends, and well wishers.
