GEN JEREMIAH USENI, FORMER FCT MINISTER DIES AT 82

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and distinguished elder statesman, Lt. General Jeremiah Timbut Useni (Rtd.), has passed away at the age of 82 years old.

The retired General, who was once Bendel State Military Administrator, and known for his exceptional service in the Nigerian Armed Forces and his contributions to national development, died on Thursday, January 23, 2025, following a protracted illness.

General Useni held several key positions during his career, including Minister of Transport, Quarter-Master General of the Nigerian Army, and Minister of the FCT. He later transitioned into politics, serving as a Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District in 2015.

His passing has been described as a great loss to Plateau State and the nation. General Useni leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership, and commitment to peace and development.
