NIGERIAN NAVY KICKS OFF 69TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH JUMA’AT PRAYERS

As the Nigerian Navy began its 69th anniversary celebration and 2025 Navy Week with special Juma’at prayers, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle has encouraged all NN personnel to remain committed to the Service and the Nation.

He added that the Federal Government was committed to ensuring the provision of equipment and platforms for the force.

The Special Juma’at Prayer Service was conducted on Friday, 23rd May, 2025 at the newly commissioned Central Mosque, Admiralty Estate, Asokoro Abuja.

Dr Bello Matawalle, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the service, appreciated the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla for providing befitting Worship Centres for the personnel.

However, the CNS who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, urged naval personnel to remain prayerful, steadfast and faithful in the face of numerous challenges.

He further stated that the strength of the country lies in the unity of all despite diverse backgrounds.

The CNS applauded the President, C-in-C of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to the NN which has culminated in the acquisition of modern platforms and improved personnel welfare.

On his part, the Director Islamic Affairs and Imam of the Central Mosque, Navy Captain Rabiu Rumah thanked the Almighty God for His steadfastness noting that as the Navy celebrates its 69th Anniversary, he called on the personnel to imbibe the virtue of truthfulness and honesty as they conduct daily affairs.

The Juma’at was attended Director Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed and Executive Director Human Resources Navy Holdings Limited, Rear Admiral Muhsin Abba among many other senior officers, ratings and dignitaries.
