The Anambra State Police Command PPRO has been honoured by the Police high Command at the 2024 Nigeria Police Awards and Commendations ceremony held at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja on Wednesday, June 4 2025.
The PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, expressed his heart-felt appreciation and acknowledged that the award is not a trophy because it was never a lone effort but a collaborative team work of Officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command in a renewed vision and deeper resolve to mark a new beginning of their journey towards excellence.
According to him, “This award does not make me extraordinary. I carry it with honour of humility and with the fierce determination to do even more.
“I have seen men and women who represent the very best of our nation — officers who, through sweat and sacrifice, courage and character, have risen above the call of duty.
“My greatest resource is the trust of the people we serve and we are ready to serve you better. Please don’t get tired of assessing us. It is from your comments that inform most of the decisions we take as a Command
“Given the above, the award is a commitment and reaffirmation of the Anambra State Police Command towards greater dedication to protect with courage and serve with compassion.”
SP Ikenga expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, the AIG Zone 13, the Commissioner of Police Anambra State and the Force PRO. Also, a very big thank you to everyone who believes in us, especially members of the Fourth estate of realm.
