CNS TASKS NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS TO INTENSIFY FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY, MARITIME CRIMES

Seven Naval Officers who have distinguished themselves through dent of hard work, dedication and professionalism were on Tuesday decorated with their new rank badges of Lieutenant Commanders at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja.

The event known in Naval parlance as the “Shipping of Stripes” marked a major milestone in the careers of the officers, recognizing their exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the service of the Nigerian Navy and the nation.

The seven newly promoted officers are: Lieutenant Sadiq Alhassan, Lieutenant Augusta Aku, Lieutenant James Enejoh, Lieutenant Clement Eyeh, Lieutenant James Fatika, Lieutenant Titilayo George and Lieutenant Deborah Nwaorji.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Abdullahi Dewu commended the officers for their professionalism and commitment to the service.

Admiral Ibrahim Dewu congratulated the officers and their spouses on the well-deserved promotion. He emphasized that the promotions were not only a personal achievement but also a reflection of support from family who laboured to keep the home front, and ensured that the officers concentrate on their job which has earned them the promotion.

In the words of the Chief of Policy and Plans, Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, “Today’s ceremony is a celebration of hard work, integrity, professionalism and perseverance. Your promotion is not just recognition of past achievements but also a call to greater responsibility as Lieutenant Commanders in the Nigerian Navy.

“You must put in your best in the Nigerian Navy effort in fighting insecurity and maritime crime in the country.”

The Director of Information (DINFO), Nigerian Navy, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu said in a statement that the seven officers were decorated with their new ranks of Lieutenant Commanders in the presence of their families, branch Chiefs, Directors, senior officers and well-wishers.
