The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar has disclosed that henceforth retired personnel of the force would be integrated into major NAF events.
As such, the service would continue to explore opportunities for their re-engagement and inclusion in productivity cycles.
“Your contributions have laid the solid foundation upon which the NAF stands today,”he said.
He gave the assurance while addressing retired personnel during the 2025 Mid-Year CAS Veterans Parley held in Abuja on Saturday, 12th July 2025.
Air Marshal Abubakar further reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to prioritising the welfare and concerns of its veterans.
He emphasized that supporting retired personnel remains a central pillar of the NAF’s strategic focus.
Air Marshal Abubakar also noted that the Service has made deliberate efforts to engage retired personnel across all units, including the appointment of Veterans’ Desk Officers and granting veterans access to NAF medical facilities for themselves and their immediate families.

The CAS praised the enduring contributions of the veteran community and expressed hope that their feedback would continue to shape NAF’s growth.
He urged all veterans to remain proud ambassadors of the Service, upholding its values of honour, discipline, and integrity in retirement as in service.
The event featured insightful lectures addressing critical health issues and the relevance of veterans to the broader socio-political development of the nation.
A highly engaging interactive session with veterans also provided a platform to discuss actionable strategies for enhancing their well-being.
These activities form part of the Chief of the Air Staff’s comprehensive plan to honour the sacrifices of NAF veterans—true heroes of the nation—and to reassure them that their service and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
