
The Force Commander of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau (ESSMGB), Brigadier General Edward Odinya Ojabo, had charged the troops to work together as a cohesive unit, leveraging their collective strengths to achieve the mission’s objectives.
He spoke during a visited to the Nigerian Contingent 4 (NIGCoy 4) at their camp in the capital city of Guinea Bissau.
The visit on Wednesday, 6th August, 2025, followed the successful rotation of troops between NIGCoy 3 and NIGCoy 4.

During his interaction with the troops, General Ojabo emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He urged the troops to be good ambassadors of their country and ECOWAS, upholding the values of discipline, good conduct, and exemplary character throughout their tenure in Guinea Bissau.
The Force Commander reminded the troops of the significant tasks ahead, particularly in maintaining peace and stability in the region. He stressed the need for the troops to remain vigilant, focused, and committed to their responsibilities.

General Ojabo concluded by reiterating the importance of discipline and good conduct, assuring the troops that their exemplary behaviour would reflect positively on Nigeria and ECOWAS.
In a statement by the Mission Public Information Officer, Major Yahaya Nasir Kabara further discloser that the visit was aimed at welcoming the newly deployed troops and reinforcing the importance of professionalism, discipline, and teamwork among the troops, ensuring a successful and impactful mission in Guinea Bissau.
