As the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Interdenominational Church Service held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa on Sunday, Venerable Olufeyisanjo Ojelabi has called on Nigerian leaders to show love to all without discrimination and do what is right at all times.
Speaking as the Guest Speaker on the topic titled: “Love and Sacrifice” which was taken from the Book of John Chapter 15 verse 13, Venerable Ojelabi enjoined the leaders not to discriminate against one another.
Earlier, during the Juma’at Prayers held at the Secretariat Community Central Mosque Alausa on Friday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, called on Nigerians to join hands with the military by providing credible information to enable them tackle every insecurity in the country.
In his goodwill message by the Corps Commander Education, Major General MM Bunza, who represented the Chief of Army Staff, thanked Allah for giving us the opportunity to be alive to grace the day’s memorable event.
The prayers led by Imam Abdulgafar eulogized the fallen heroes for their efforts in ensuring that the nation remained indivisible. The service also gave both Muslims and Christian faithfuls the opportunity to pray for the fallen heroes, and both serving and retired personnel with their families.
On his part, the Governor of Lagos State who was also represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Prince Olarenwaju Elegushi enjoined all security agencies to remain steadfast, dedicated to duty and prayed Allah to grant our military success in all endeavours adding that the efforts of the fallen heroes will never be in vain.
The well attended Interdenominational service had in attendance dignitaries from the Nigerian Army, Navy, Airforce, Nigerian Legion and representatives of other security agencies.
The General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army was represented by his Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Nsikan Edet. Other dignitaries include the Commander 81 Division Garrison, Brigadier General FO Omata; the Chief of Staff Headquarters Nigerian Army Education Corps, Brigadier General JT Aun, Commodore SS Oloruntoba, Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, Squadron Leader BS Seweje of 651 Base Services Group Ikeja, Chairman Nigerian Legion Lagos State, Colonel Samuel Akande (rtd), representatives of Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Mr Ola Agboola, Senior Officers, soldiers, airmen/women, ratings and families of some fallen heroes.
