The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an increase of Nigerian Standard Passport application fees, with effect from September 1, 2025.
According to a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, ACI A.S. Akinlabi, the new fee structure applies only to passport applications made within Nigeria.
He said under the revised rates, a 32-page passport with five-year validity will now cost ₦100,000, while the 64-page passport with ten-year validity will cost ₦200,000.
Passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page booklet (five-year validity) and $230 for the 64-page booklet (ten-year validity).
The NIS emphasized that the review was necessary to sustain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport while assuring the public of its continued commitment to accessible and efficient service delivery.
