NDDC RESTATES COMMITMENT TO NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT AS EBIE INSPECTS PROJECTS AT OGHARA, OTHERS

Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Governing Council Board, Barrister Chiedu Ebie has inspected ongoing projects being undertaken by the Commission at Oghara, Delta state.

At the College of Applied Health Sciences, Western Delta University, Oghara, he inspected a building project and expressed satisfaction with the progress of work there.

On hand to receive the NDDC Chairman at the Institution was the Vice Chancellor, Professor Augustine Ikhile who lauded the Commission for coming to the aid of the institution with such massive project.

Professor Ikhile expressed the optimism that when completed, the project will boost academic and non academic activities in the University.

The VC praised Ebie’s commitment to multi-sectorial development of the Niger Delta region saying his passion for the region was unparalleled.

“In the past two years, significant and visible live-impacting projects have taken place in the Niger Delta region, and this is because of the commitment and hard work of the board, management and staff of the NDDC.

“We appreciate and assure you, Sir, of meeting up with the agreed time frame for completion” Professor Ikhile said.

While assessing the progress of work, Ebie said he was impressed by the dedication of the workers on site and urged the contractor to expedite work and maintain quality.

He highlighted the importance of the project to the University in enhancing health education and stressed the need for standard and timely completion.

Barrister Chiedu Ebie thereafter proceeded to the MOPOL 51 Squadron Command of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), also in Oghara on a fact finding mission, where he was warmly received by the Squadron Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Uwa Egwuagun, who later took the NDDC boss round the Command. ACP Egwuagun commended the Commission’s giant stride region on infrastructure, security and community policing in the Niger Delta. He appealed for patrol vehicles for the command to help fight crime.

At the NDDC office in Warri , under construction, Ebie was received by the Director in the Delta state office of the Commission, Onoriode Omodoyon who showed him round facilities in the office.

Omodoyon thanked the NDDC Board Chairman and the entire management for the new office and their resilience and commitment to greater service to the people of the Niger Delta region in particular and Nigeria at large.

Responding, Ebie assured that he will return for inspiration before the building is completed and commissioned .

Before ending the visits,, the NDDC chairman paid a courtesy call on two prominent sons of the state former governors – His Excellencies, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. Both leaders warmly received him and commended his leadership style.

Ebie was accompanied on the visit by his key staff and personal Aides.
