Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Special Anti-Cult Squad (SPACS), Enugwu-Ukwu, have intensified patrols and surveillance to prevent a planned rivalry cult clash especially in Awka, Anambra State.

A statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that, following a credible intelligence, the Command has also activated necessary non-kinetic approaches in collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Anti-Cultism and the State Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), to ensure a coordinated strategy in tackling cultism and its associated crimes.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, reassures residents of the Command’s readiness to respond swiftly to any threat to public safety. He urges parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against involvement in cult activities, while also encouraging the public to report suspicious movements or gatherings to the Police for prompt action.
