He replaces General Abayomi Olonisakin who has occupied that seat since 2015 and after 42 years in service. Also appointed are new Chiefs for Army, Navy and the Airforce.
The new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), is Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, who was until his appointment, serving at the TRADOC in Minna Niger state.
