NITDA BACKS BENUE’S DIGITAL DRIVE

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)  joined stakeholders at the graduation of the First Summer Tech Training, the induction of Digital Benue Children Ambassadors, and the launch of the “One Student, One Computer & One Skill+” initiative, organised by the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) Plc.

The event marked a major step in Benue State’s commitment to promoting digital literacy and innovation as drivers of growth and development.

Through the Summer Camp, more than 80 young people gained hands-on skills in software development, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and workplace readiness.

A key highlight was the induction of participants as Digital Benue Children Ambassadors, a scheme designed to nurture young champions of digital culture who will inspire their peers and communities to embrace innovation.

The unveiling of the “One Student, One Computer & One Skill+” initiative further underscored efforts to bridge the digital divide and prepare a new generation of innovators.

Representing NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Director of Zonal Office Coordination, Mr. Ajayi Babajide, commended the graduates and urged them to embrace their new roles with pride and responsibility.

“You are stepping into a higher calling as digital ambassadors. Wear this badge of honour proudly, and let your creativity, skills, and innovations become a beacon of hope for your peers, your communities, and indeed our nation,” he charged.

The event reinforced NITDA’s ongoing commitment to building a digitally inclusive Nigeria through strategic partnerships with sub-nationals.
