NITDA COMMISSIONS DIGITAL LEARNING CENTRE

The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by Dr. Ayodeji Eniola, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to expanding digital access and literacy at the commissioning of a new Digital Learning Centre at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Gudi Campus.

In his remarks, Abdullahi emphasised that “digital literacy is the new currency of opportunity,” stressing that inclusive digital infrastructure is a key driver of national development and resilience.

He noted that, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, NITDA is targeting the establishment of 445 innovation and digital learning spaces by 2027 to broaden access, nurture local talent, and accelerate innovation across the country.

Commending the university’s leadership, the DG described the newly commissioned facility as “not just a room of computers, but a gateway to the global knowledge economy.”

The Vice Chancellor of NSUK expressed appreciation to NITDA and its leadership for helping to bridge the digital divide. She said the centre will be fully utilised to empower students, staff, and researchers, foster inclusive learning, advance research, and equip graduates with the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital economy.
