NITDA, UBEC STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP TO MAINSTREAM

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises Education, Health, and Social Investment, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is scaling up efforts to embed digital literacy across Nigeria’s education system.

The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, led his management team on a strategic visit to the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Hajiya Aisha Garba, to deepen collaboration on integrating digital literacy into the basic education curriculum.

The engagement builds on NITDA’s sustained partnership with key education stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission (NUC), and the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), all working towards advancing digital skills at every stage of learning.

As part of the outcomes, a joint committee has been established to design strategies for the smooth rollout of the initiative, ensuring young Nigerians acquire the skills required to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
