
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, has received the newly appointed U.S. Consul General, Mr. Richard E. Swart, at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja, where both sides explored avenues for deepening bilateral partnerships in Nigeria’s digital economy.
The discussions centered on cooperation in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and alignment with the U.S. AI Action Plan, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to driving innovation and resilience across key sectors.
Inuwa outlined NITDA’s mandate, milestones, and strategic vision under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He also highlighted ongoing collaborations with U.S. tech giants such as Google, Cisco, Meta, and Flutterwave, noting that these partnerships are already shaping Nigeria’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem.
The visit underscored a shared resolve to strengthen Nigeria’s digital landscape through strategic collaborations that advance innovation, bolster cybersecurity, and expand opportunities for inclusive growth.
