A delegation from the University of Rome and The Peace Institute (TPI), led by Prof. Hauwa Ibrahim, has met with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to reflect on the successful execution of a three-week STEAM Digital Literacy Programme in Hadejia, Jigawa State.

The delegation was received by Dr. Dimie Wariowei, NITDA’s Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy, who welcomed the team and commended the initiative’s impact. The programme trained 1,050 pupils from 45 schools, equipping them with practical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through the use of both modern tools and locally sourced materials.

During the visit, the delegation toured the NITDA Computer Emergency Readiness and Response Team (CERRT) facility, where they were briefed on Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to safeguard its digital ecosystem.

The engagement underscores NITDA’s commitment to advancing digital literacy and fostering a sustainable digital future in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
