Determined to strengthen border security and foster greater synergy among law enforcement bodies, the Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu, has embarked on a series of strategic visits to sister security agencies, including the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The visits, which took place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, underscore Comptroller Aliyu’s ongoing commitment to building stronger partnerships in the collective fight against trans-border crimes, smuggling, and other threats to national security.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Abdulmalik Akintola, the engagements are part of a broader strategy to promote cooperation, intelligence sharing, and operational coordination among security agencies within the Oyo and Osun axis.

At the Nigeria Correctional Service, Comptroller Aliyu described the agency as “a vital pillar in Nigeria’s security framework,” commending its mandate of reforming, rehabilitating, and reintegrating offenders into society. He applauded the Service for its contributions to national peace and stability, noting that its work complements the efforts of other security institutions in maintaining law and order.
During his visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Customs boss praised the agency’s frontline role in border management, migration control, and the prevention of transnational crimes. “The Nigeria Immigration Service remains a key partner in safeguarding our territorial integrity and ensuring the legal and orderly movement of people,” he stated, adding that effective collaboration between the NIS and NCS is crucial to national security and economic growth.
At the NSCDC headquarters, Comptroller Aliyu lauded the Corps for its consistency in protecting critical infrastructure, combating vandalism, and assisting in anti-smuggling operations. “The NSCDC has proven to be a dependable ally in maintaining internal security and supporting our collective mission to protect lives and property,” he remarked.

Comptroller Aliyu explained that his recent visits were not mere courtesies but deliberate steps toward deepening operational synergy and fostering mutual trust among security agencies. “No single agency can secure the nation in isolation. Collaboration is the foundation of effective border management and national protection,” he emphasized.
He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, to continue working hand in hand with sister agencies to enhance national security, promote socio-economic development, and uphold Nigeria’s sovereignty.
The latest visits follow the Area Controller’s earlier engagements with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State — a clear indication of his sustained drive to position inter-agency cooperation as a cornerstone of effective law enforcement and border governance.
