The Anambra State Police Command has joined other service-oriented agencies across Nigeria to commemorate the 2025 Customer Service Week, reaffirming its commitment to the safety and security of residents of the state.
This year’s celebration, themed “Empathy in Service,” is observed annually during the first week of October to recognize the importance of quality service delivery and customer engagement.
In line with the theme, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Area Commanders, and Heads of Tactical Units across Anambra were seen engaging their host communities through open-door interactions and community outreach activities. These included alternative dispute resolution sessions, security sensitization walks, gift presentations, and sanitation exercises—initiatives aimed at fostering mutual trust and strengthening police-community relations.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, reaffirmed that the safety and security of Ndi Anambra remain the Command’s foremost priority.

“The police are not only law enforcers but also public servants whose duty is to protect lives and property with empathy, fairness, and professionalism,” the CP said.
He urged officers and men of the Command to use the occasion to reflect on their approach to service delivery and recommit themselves to building stronger relationships with the public.
“This week offers us the opportunity to improve on our communication, courtesy, and accountability in all our interactions,” he added.
In a statement by the SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Awka, the CP further appreciated the people of Anambra for their continuous cooperation and partnership in promoting peace and safety across the state.
“Happy Customer Service Week, Ndi Anambra. Your trust and collaboration are deeply appreciated,” he said.
The event highlights the Command’s ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, empathy, and community engagement in policing throughout Anambra State.
