
The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned three male suspects before a Special Court sitting in Awka over alleged involvement in offences bordering on unnatural acts, in violation of the provisions of the Criminal Code Act.
The suspects, identified as Chizitem Nwankwo (20), Uche Paul (36), and Chinedu Maduekwe (40), were remanded in a correctional facility in the state following their arraignment.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arraignment was a result of a meticulous investigation conducted by police detectives after credible intelligence and evidence were obtained. The case file was subsequently reviewed by the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP), which recommended their prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring diligent prosecution of all criminal cases in accordance with legal provisions.
“The Command remains resolute in pursuing justice through due process. We will continue to ensure that all criminal matters are handled professionally and within the bounds of the law,” CP Orutugu stated.
He also urged members of the public to continue providing useful and credible information to assist the police in maintaining law and order across the state.
