Sterling Bank is set to host the 8th edition of the Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA), reaffirming its leadership in driving sustainable and inclusive agricultural development across the continent. Themed “Survival of the Greenest: Reclaiming Africa’s Food Destiny,” ASA 2025 will take place from November 6–7 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The summit, Africa’s leading platform for agricultural innovation and policy dialogue, will focus on green finance, digital innovation, and climate-smart agriculture as key levers for transforming the continent into a global food powerhouse.
Now in its eighth year, ASA is convened annually by Sterling Bank to foster cross-sector collaboration among policymakers, agribusiness leaders, investors, and technology innovators from across Africa and beyond.
“At Sterling, we believe Africa’s food future must be secured through deliberate, collective action,” said Abubakar Suleiman, Managing Director and CEO of Sterling Bank. “ASA has become a galvanizing force for sustainable agricultural transformation, aligning stakeholders around a shared vision of food security, innovation, and resilience.”
Despite possessing over 60% of the world’s uncultivated arable land, Africa continues to face systemic challenges such as low productivity, limited access to finance, and the growing impacts of climate change. ASA 2025 aims to address these barriers through targeted discussions, investment facilitation, and policy engagement.
Olushola Obikanye, Group Head of Agric Finance and Solid Minerals at Sterling Bank, noted:
“This year’s theme reflects both the urgency and the opportunity before us. ASA serves as a dynamic platform to design solutions that strengthen agricultural value chains, unlock financing, and promote inclusive growth.”
The two-day event will feature delegates from over 30 countries, and will include high-level panel discussions, keynote addresses, policy dialogues, exhibitions, and an Investment Deal Room designed to connect investors with viable agribusiness ventures.
Sunbeth Global Concepts, a leading agro-commodities company, joins as co-convener, contributing its expertise in agribusiness strategy and development partnerships.
“We are proud to partner on ASA 2025 as we believe Africa’s future lies in sustainable agriculture,” said Eyitemi Adebowale, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Sunbeth. “This summit is a catalyst for climate-smart solutions, farmer empowerment, and investment mobilization.”
Strategic partners for ASA 2025 include Mastercard, which will lead discussions on digital agriculture, as well as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), The Alternative Bank, ONE Foundation, Noor Takaful, Bühler, and Arzikin Noma, among others.
ASA 2025 promises to be a milestone event in redefining Africa’s agricultural agenda, driving the shift from dependence to resilience through innovation and inclusive finance.
