Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have expanded their strategic partnership with the launch of new codeshare flights covering 19 destinations across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia — a move that significantly strengthens connectivity between the two carriers’ networks.
The expanded codeshare agreement follows the airlines’ recently signed partnership and will take effect on October 26, 2025, with tickets available for sale from October 21. Under the new arrangement, Kenya Airways passengers will enjoy seamless travel options beyond Doha to 10 new destinations via Qatar Airways’ award-winning Hamad International Airport, while Qatar Airways customers will gain access to eight destinations within Kenya Airways’ African network through Nairobi.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori said the partnership’s progress in such a short time underscores both airlines’ commitment to expanding their global reach.
“We are pleased with the significant progress made in just a few months since the partnership with Kenya Airways began,” Antinori said. “This enhancement is a testament to our collaborative efforts, further strengthening our presence in Kenya and across Africa. The addition of our third daily flight to Nairobi is another cornerstone of this growing relationship, driven by strong passenger demand for reliable and seamless connectivity.”
Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu hailed the expanded cooperation as a milestone that enhances travel options for customers across three continents.
“We are excited to embark on this new chapter of our partnership with Qatar Airways,” Thairu said. “This collaboration expands our reach across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia — opening new destinations and ensuring our customers enjoy greater convenience, connectivity, and a seamless travel experience.”
Through this partnership, Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to key African destinations such as Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola, and Victoria Falls, while Kenya Airways travelers will be able to connect through Doha to major cities including Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Malé, Tokyo Narita, and Singapore.
The airlines also announced that members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club will earn Avios on codeshare flights operated by Kenya Airways. Future phases of the collaboration are expected to include cooperation in cargo operations, aircraft maintenance, sustainability, and procurement.
The codeshare expansion marks another step in Qatar Airways’ continued investment in Africa, a key growth region for the airline, and strengthens Kenya Airways’ international network through its Nairobi hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
