The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has launched an investigation into allegations that one of its staff members engaged in improper transaction practices involving the use of a personal bank account to receive payments for signage-related services.
In a statement issued by the Agency’s management, LASAA said it views the allegation with “utmost seriousness,” describing such conduct—if confirmed—as a clear violation of established financial and ethical procedures guiding transactions within the Agency and the Lagos State Civil Service.
Acting on the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Agency confirmed that the staff involved has been identified and ordered to report to LASAA’s Head Office for immediate investigation and disciplinary action in line with public service rules.
The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity in all its dealings, emphasizing that all payments for its services must be made exclusively through officially designated government channels.
“LASAA maintains zero tolerance for any act capable of undermining public trust,” the statement read. “We appreciate the vigilance of members of the public who bring such matters to our attention and assure all stakeholders that appropriate measures will be taken to safeguard the integrity of our processes.”
The Agency added that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
