Although the reasons for their sack was not disclosed but fingers are pointing to the rumoured coup, which the military command debunked despite confirming some high profile officers have been arrested for indiscipline.
Again, some analysts are of the view that it might be connected with the security slump, leading to spiralling attacks on some military locations and the effrontery of terrorists sects, bandits and the nuisance value of kidnappers.
However, some said that the changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs is normal meant to reboot efforts of the federal government of Nigeria to strengthen the national security architecture.
The President expressed appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa and the other Service Chiefs for their patriotic service, and dedicated leadership.
The President charges the newly appointed Service Chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them to further enhance the professionalism, vigilance and comradeship that define the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
