ARMOURED CORPS BIDS FAREWELL TO CORPS COMMANDER, MAJ GEN OBINNA AJUNWA

The outgone Commander Armoured Corps, Major General Obinna Ajunwa on Wednesday, in colourful ceremony, was lauded for his exemplary leadership, dedication and outstanding contributions to the Corps, the Nigerian Army and the Nation at large.

During the farewell ceremony at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Obienu Barracks, Bauchi, officers, soldiers and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate him.

According to Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Captain Jemila Jimoh, the event, described as both auspicious and emotional, reflected the deep respect and admiration accorded to the outgoing Commander Armoured Corps, who has been widely acknowledged as a disciplined and visionary leader.

Under his command, the Nigerian Army Armour Corps witnessed remarkable progress in operational readiness, training and welfare of personnel under command. His tenure was characterized by professionalism, unity of purpose and unwavering commitment to the core values of the Nigerian Army.

In his farewell address, Major General Obinna C Ajunwa expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff now Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth and effectiveness of the Nigerian Army Armour Corps and the Army in general.

He appreciated the officers, soldiers and barrack community for their support, loyalty and cooperation throughout his tenure. He encouraged them to remain steadfast, disciplined and committed to upholding the honour and traditions of the Corps.

He also welcomed young Armoured officers of 72 Regular Combatants and Short Service Combatants 48 to the Corps, urging them to work hard and strive to impact their quota to the Corps.
