Following the recently released postings and redeployments of senior Army officers, the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) Commandant, Major General Kelvin Aligbe today, 4th November, 2025, handed over to Major General Peter Malla at the Command’s Headquarters in Minna Military Cantonment, Niger State.

After 38 years of dedicated service, Major General Aligbe retired, leaving behind a legacy of strategic leadership and commitment to doctrinal excellence.

In his farewell address, he expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army and the officers and soldiers of TRADOC NA for their unwavering support.

“I am deeply thankful for the privilege to lead and for the loyalty of the men and women who stood by me,” he said.

Major General Peter Malla, the 45th Commander of TRADOC NA, acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with the position and paid tribute to his predecessor’s decades of service.

He also thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu Nigerian Army Medal (NAM), for entrusting him with the command of the esteemed establishment. “I am committed to giving my best and building on the foundation laid by those before me,” he stated.

In a statement by the Lieutenant Colonel Felicia Daniel, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army, said that the Training and Doctrine Command ceremony, attended by senior officers, soldiers, and other stakeholders, underscored the Nigerian Army’s commitment to continuity, professionalism, and institutional stability. As TRADOC NA continues to shape the future of military training and doctrine, the new Commander is poised to lead with integrity and vision.
