FCT POLICE REDEPLOYS GWARIMPA DPO OVER ALLEGED MISCONDUCT, APPOINTS CSP GUSAU AS REPLACEMENT

CP DANTAWAYE MILLER

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gwarimpa Division, Superintendent of Police (SP) Babale Galadima, to the Command Headquarters following allegations of professional misconduct raised by members of the public.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the redeployed officer is to face administrative disciplinary proceedings in line with the Commissioner’s zero-tolerance stance on unprofessional conduct within the Command.

CP Dantawaye reaffirmed his earlier directive to all Divisional Police Officers and personnel to remain professional, courteous, and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties, warning that acts of misconduct or abuse of office will attract appropriate sanctions.

In a related development, the Commissioner approved the posting of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nasir Gusau as the new DPO of Gwarimpa Division with immediate effect.

He charged the new DPO to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, respect human rights, and maintain civility in dealings with members of the public, in line with the Command’s strategic operational goals.

The Police Commissioner also appealed to residents of Gwarimpa and surrounding areas to cooperate with the new DPO and continue supporting the Police in their efforts to sustain peace, law, and public safety across the Division.

For emergencies or actionable information, the Command urged members of the public to contact its control room via 0803 200 3913 or 0806 858 7311, or reach the Police Complaint Response Unit (CRU) on 0810 731 4192.
