EFCC NABS THREE SUSPECTED VOTE BUYERS

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three individuals for alleged involvement in vote buying during the Anambra governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, Dele Oyewale, said that the suspects — Emeka Ilokasia, Nwachukwu Loretta, and Emuka Chuwudi — were apprehended in different locations across the state. Ilokasia was arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka Local Government Area; Loretta was caught at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area; while Chuwudi was arrested at Umunachi Village, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

They were allegedly involved in activities suspected of being aimed at inducing voters during the election process.

According to the Commission, the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
