The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a wanted drug baron, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, famously known as Chisco Bee, following weeks of intelligence gathering and coordinated surveillance by its Special Operations Unit. The arrest forms part of a nationwide offensive that led to the seizure of more than 14,440 kilograms of skunk and other drug consignments across seven states.
According to the NDLEA Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, Ibemesi, 42, was picked up in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his Daisy Garden Hotel located on Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos. He was subsequently taken to his warehouse on Pius Ezeobi Street, where operatives discovered 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of Loud, a potent variant of cannabis, weighing a total of 1,762.8 kilograms.
The agency also recovered foreign currency at the point of arrest, including $11,600, 2,000 British Pounds, 2,200 Euros, and 50 Canadian dollars.
Major Forest Operation in Osun
Earlier in the week, NDLEA operatives foiled an attempt by a drug syndicate to move more than 11,135 kilograms of processed skunk from the Orita-Apeje, Araromi-Okeodo forest reserve in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State. The operation followed days of surveillance inside the forest.
Two trucks — a Volvo (WWR 29 XA) and a Mercedes (AWK 713 YZ) — used for transporting the drugs were seized. Seven suspects were arrested: Lucky Abiodun, Julius Amos, Victor Ngbikili, Sunday Oduegwu, Ibrahim Akanni, Eze Godstime, and Fred Ifeanyichukwu.

Edo, Taraba, Nasarawa, and Ogun Raids Yield More Seizures
In Edo State, operatives recovered 1,902.1 kilograms of skunk during multiple interceptions and forest raids. Key recoveries include:
- 184.1kg along Oza/Igbanke road on November 13
- 672kg from Utese forest, Ovia North-East, on November 14
- 494kg from a Mercedes Benz at the Benin–Akure road, where suspect Felix Edah, 45, was arrested
- 552kg from another Mercedes Benz driven by Lucky Abagha, 51
In Ogun State, four suspects — Micheal Okoh, Offor Agada, Raphael Nkemjika, and Nwabueze Franklin — were arrested along the Ijebu-Ode expressway with 68kg of skunk and 3.150kg of methamphetamine.
Taraba State Command arrested Danjuma Tukura, 50, with 172kg of skunk at Sunkani in Ardo-Kola LGA and Wisdom Titus, 24, with 84kg in Takum.
Adamawa Command recovered 396,000 capsules of tramadol from a suspect, Ahmed Isyaku Nda, 50, at the Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola.
In Nasarawa State, 785kg of skunk was evacuated from the warehouse of a dealer currently on the run at Asob Maraba Karu.

Lagos and Kwara Operations Net More Suspects
In Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested two suspects — Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu — with 130 pouches of Canadian Loud, weighing 65.15kg, in Surulere. Another suspect, Taofeek Moraina, was nabbed with 141kg of Ghana Loud at Otto, Oyingbo.
Kwara operatives intercepted a truck conveying 197 blocks of skunk weighing 78.565kg and 155 cartons of rubber solutions along the Ilorin–Jebba expressway. The driver, Umar Yakubu, was detained. A separate operation at Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, led to the arrest of Ibrahim Bello with 20 blocks of skunk hidden in a 50-litre jerrycan on November 12.
NDLEA Expands WADA Sensitization Nationwide
In addition to enforcement activities, the agency intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy across schools and communities. Sensitization lectures were held in institutions in Zamfara, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Enugu, Lagos, Ogun and other states.
Marwa Commends Operatives
NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), commended the officers involved in the successful operations across the SOU, Osun, Lagos, Edo, Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa, and Kwara Commands. He urged them to sustain the “balanced approach” to drug control through enforcement and public education.
